Legal & General Investments (LGI) is Legal & General's investment brand in the retail market. LGI designs, manufactures, markets and distributes funds. The management of most of these funds is then appointed to the investment management arm of the Legal & General Group, Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM).
LGIM is one of the largest investors in the UK stock market, managing investments of over 4% of the FTSE All-Share Index.
As at 30 June 2011, the Legal & General Group was responsible for investing £370 billion of assets worldwide on behalf of investors, policyholders and shareholders.
